Milan managed to make a few smart signings this summer, bringing in the likes of Diogo Dalot, Brahim Diaz, JP Hauge and above all Sandro Tonali. The latter was snatched at a bargain price with an advantageous formula.
The 20-year-old showed great promise last season, leading Brescia in the top tier, but hasn’t been thrown into action at Milan. Ismael Bennacer and Franck Kessie have been outstanding, making it tough for the youngster to gain a starting spot.
As reported by Tuttosport (via MilanNews), the Rossoneri expect a lot from Tonali, who must take advantage of every single opportunity and convince Stefano Pioli. Of course, giving him time and calm to adapt is a positive aspect.
Tonali is struggling a bit, though, and hasn’t really found his spot on the pitch. At Brescia, he played in a three-man midfield and thought about building, while the others did the dirty work. With Pioli, he must also ‘destroy’ to fit in.
In short, he still has a lot of time to improve and Milan are confident that he will be able to do so, considering his qualities.
