Tuttosport: Two issues arise in Milan’s hopes of netting a windfall from sale of Atalanta man

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are still hoping that they hold the cards regarding Matteo Pessina’s future but a double problem has emerged, according to a report.

This morning’s edition of Tuttosport (via MilanLive) recalls how the Rossoneri will receive 50% of the revenue on the future resale of Pessina by Atalanta. Therefore, if the 24-year-old left Bergamo this summer, Milan could net themselves a nice earning.

However, Atalanta absolutely do not want to sell him this summer, given that they would prefer to let other players like Josip Ilicic depart. Not only that, but if he were to stay another season then Pessina is likely to reach 100 official appearances for La Dea, which would remove the 50% clause Milan have.

There is talk that Inter are already in talks with Atalanta over Pessina too, as Simone Inzaghi’s team would like to sign the player in 2022, so as to allow him to mature one more season in Bergamo and to avoid giving Milan anything.

  1. His contract expires next summer, the clause will be gone after 100 matches but they will still earn 0? 😀

    1. Maybe I missed the news if he signed a new one, but in any case, the clause is the most stupid ever. If the player plays good and features in the first team it is removed? 😀
