Tuttosport: Wise choices and masterpiece sales – Maldini and Massara worked a miracle

Milan extended their unbeaten run to 21 games on Thursday evening. The success on the pitch is the result of a broader work, which was born behind the desk. No secrets from the management, only good choices.

The Rossoneri, as reported by Tuttosport (via MilanNews.it), are a small financial masterpiece. Thanks to the operations during the recent transfer window, incoming and outgoing, it was a profitable mercato dispute the reinforcements.

Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, who had one foot out the club in March, worked a miracle. Above all with the sales, especially Suso and Lucas Paquetà. They spent about €20m on signings and collected €50m from sales, which is great.

And that is without counting the savings on the salaries of Jack Bonaventura, Lucas Biglia and Pepe Reina. Milan also decided to redeem important players like Simon Kjaer and Alexis Saelemaekers, while keeping the important players.

Once again, they decided to focus on young players, bringing in the likes of Diogo Dalot, Sandro Tonali, Jens Petter Hauge and Brahim Diaz. Shrewd investments and few exceptions, Zlatan Ibrahimovic being one of them, of course.

Maldini and Massara worked with knowledge, remedying some mistakes made in the past. And in the bank, there is an amount to spend in January. If any good opportunities arise, the club won’t hold back.
