Di Marzio: Verbal agreement reached as Giroud is ‘delighted’ with Milan’s offer

AC Milan have reached a verbal agreement with Olivier Giroud over the extension of his contract, according to a report.

The Milan management had a meeting with Giroud’s agents Michael Manuello and Vincenzo Morabito at Casa Milan today to discuss the extension of his current deal – expiring at the end of the season – and it seems that the talks were positve.

According to what Gianluca Di Marzio has just told Sky (via MilanNews), Milan have reached a verbal agreement for the renewal of Giroud after today’s meeting at the headquarters.

The Rossoneri’s offer to the player is worth approximately €3.8m net for next season plus bonuses and the Frenchman was ‘delighted’ with it, so his entourage accepted the terms there and then.

With a verbal agreement reached, the signature to formalise everything could arrive on the eve of the Champions League match against Napoli. In the next ten days, therefore, pen on paper will arrive and he will extend until June 2024.

  1. Giroud is good enough to win the Serie A scoring title (next year). It all comes down to if he will have the right combination of players around him or not. So far he has not.

  2. GIROUD lacks a partner in crime. Find someone with a good right foot to complement him. Milan needs to have twin attack.

    1. Exactly. I dont’ understand why Milan has opted to play with a single striker for almost a decade already. I prefer 2 men up.

      1. Pair him now with Zlatan or Rebic (who plays best as the 2nd striker). Both of them know how to score and gets wasted in other positions. Zlatan is too slow to be the lone striker. No need to always make the Zlatan/Giroud sub – they can play together too.
