CM: Midfielder wants Roma exit amid Mourinho struggles – two obstacles hinder Milan’s interest

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan have been credited with interest in signing Jordan Veretout from Roma but there are currently two obstacles, a report claims.

The Frenchman has lost his spot in the starting XI since Roma signed Sergio Oliveira during the January transfer window and he has seemingly lost the faith of manager Jose Mourinho, with an abundance of reports now suggesting he could leave in the summer.

Sky journalist Angelo Mangiante is among the sources to have reported that Milan like Veretout and are very interested in acquiring his services this summer, with his contract set to expire in 2024.

Calciomercato.com confirm that the former Fiorentina man could leave Roma at the end of the season given that his relationship with Mourinho is not the best. The 28-year-old has been linked to Milan but there are two problems regarding a possible deal: the high salary he earns and the asking price being too high considering his age.

  1. Agree no go, not much better than midfielders we currently have. We should sign a leader in midfield with good skill and experience. Joao mautinho, toliso, james milner, pogba, will be good if we can get them free.
