Vieri on Ibrahimovic: “He can still play two or three more years without problems”

By Isak Möller -

Ever since Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s arrival at the club, AC Milan have really upped their game after what was a terrible start to the season. However, it remains to be seen if it will be enough to extend the Swede’s contract.

The Rossoneri signed him on a six-month contract in January, with an option of extending it for one more year. However, as was confirmed by Paolo Maldini (Sky Italia via MilanLive), the renewal clause depends on Champions League qualification.

As Milan aren’t exactly in the race for a top-four finish, they could be forced to sit down with Mino Raiola to reach an agreement on a new one-year deal. Furthermore, it will also depend on the will of Ibrahimovic, who also could decide to retire.

Speaking as a guest on the show Tiki Taka (via MilanNews.it), the former Milan, Inter and Juventus striker Christian Vieri spoke about the 38-year-old’s future with the San Siro side.

“He didn’t surprise me, he can still play two or three years more without problems. Even at 38, he’s one of the strongest there is in Italy,” he stated.
