GdS: Walker likely to return to Man City after Milan’s European failure

Kyle Walker has long been subject to rumours of a permanent stay at AC Milan, but it seems this option could be off the table due to the season.

With Milan failing to achieve many of their goals, there are understood to be financial consequences as a result. For example, the club may not be able to be as lenient in the market due to the lower revenues available, which are inevitable next season (as we have covered on Substack).

So, there are a few players that could be affected by this, and this morning’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) states that Walker is among those.

Once, it seemed like his move was a case of when, not if, but recently he has spoken about his Manchester City career not being fully over, and with the Rossoneri not likely to achieve a Champions League place, Gazzetta states that a return is ‘most likely’.

The falling chances of Champions League football have certainly not come around recently, and this would have been known when he signed a deal in January, with an option to buy included, so we cannot write off a move yet. However, it would seem that right now, the chances are lowering.

  1. Bruh Fabrizio Romano literally confirmed a few days ago that his time at city is over, how has this changed now

  2. Milan should not sign him, he is already 34, and frankly not in the best shape, we need reliable players for the future…

    1. “we need reliable players for the future…”

Nope. What we need is READY players so we could qualify to UCL again. The aim shouldn’t be in the future but this moment. Yeah, we won’t play UCL next season but we still need players that will get us there after next season.

      1. Can’t we split the difference and get a 26 year old in his prime? Why are the choices between novices and aging players in decline?

    2. I agree. His level of play has drastically dropped off. He was never much of an offensive threat, even in terms of interplay with the midfielders and wingers going forward. In fact, Pulisic needed to drop back to help him. Opposing wingers have been turning him in circles. He has loss at least one step as players are driving past him regularly. ACM need to upgrade that position.

    3. 100%
He has been GoD awful and that no name from Feynoord ripped him to bits, will be glad to see the back of him, he has been a hindered our euro campaign big time, made me miss Calabria

  3. If we can get a RB for less that is competent then that’s great. Otherwise Walker has been 10x better than any TB we’ve had for 5 years. As long as his wages aren’t crazy I think we take him

    1. We defo wont get a better rb his wages are set at 4.5mil if we buy him so its about 9mil for a year or 13.5 mil for 2 years either way i cant see it going wrong get a promising younf italian rb and let him learn from walker and we wont have rb problems for years

      1. Better bruv!!!, I could get a rock from the local D.I.Y centre and it would do better job at RB, just being static, someone might trip over it and loose the ball because I did not see Walker getting the ball of anyone

    1. Do some research bro. Bellanova is a Milan youth product. We tossed him aside. Now he’s playing for a CL bound club. Why would he return?

  4. Too old to even consider any options for him. Just way too old. It is about time for him to move on from top-tier European football.
