Yacine Adli was again one of the more positive notes for AC Milan despite the fact they lost their friendly against ZTE in Hungary by a scoreline of 3-2.

Possibly but I hope not, I think with his vision and ability to hold and release the ball he should play deeper in a Pirlo-esque role. If we are in effect adding Adli, CDK at no10 and a good RW to last seasons side then we are in a good place
In my opinion the answer to your question is no, and I’ll tell you why that’s my belief.
Firstly, the desire to sign the young Belgian hasn’t cooled, but management has already made their assessment and will stick to their evaluations regardless of their desires. Maldini has clearly shown that he has no plans on being less prudent with spending just because there’s the necessity to improve the squad.
Secondly, Adli was bought as the actual replacement for Hakan. I’m speaking in terms of tactics and not numbers obviously. The reason he wasn’t brought in straight away was twofold. One was to get a better price for the player and the other was for tactical purposes. Management has done well to plan ahead in this regard.
Anyways, I still think there’s a real chance that we sign CDK and if we do, I expect him to be primarily deployed on the right side of the trident as the kid has a wicked left foot and would be able to play as an inverted winger.Of course he’s a versatile player who can play many roles but I think that will be his main role. Leao Adli CDK is a very strong lineup behind any striker in today’s game, so I think M&M will still be hoping to get this one over the line.
Really very impressed by this kid. Great feet, great vision, he seems strong and can hold the ball too. We should stop wasting time on Renato Sanches and put him next to Tonali…spend the Sanches money elsewhere. Opposition here is not great but he seems to make the right decisions too
Absolutely!!! We need this guys creativity in the double pivot l because his creativity in the middle with the possible signing of De Ketelaere would be pretty dangerous!

Adli is primarily a AMC, so if he is going to get the playing time he needs to blossom, CdK will have to play AMR.
He played a lot in Bordeaux at CM
Exactly De Bruyne, Pirlo and Iniesta all played more advanced and went back to midfield
Adli is actually a central midfielder who has the ability to play further up the pitch. His youth coach said as much, while pointing out that he needs time to adapt to a more advanced position in midfield because at the present moment he needs that extra second on the ball to express his creativity effectively.
Lol don’t even compare Adli to Hakan. I can’t think of a more overrated CAM than Hakan. he would constantly break any good attack, whilst Adli is initiating them every time!
It’s not about a comparison between the two but it’s about the tactical solutions that both would be able to offer the coach.
In Adli’s first preseason, an article mentioned how he constantly drifted off to the left in support of the attack and that’s a similar tactical solution that Hakan offered to Pioli as a player.
Great balance,and ability to shield.Good technique,touch and brain..It was obvious that he doesn’t mind closing down and pressing at high speed either.First 5 steps he accelerates like a Ferrari – with the ball – this kid can flat out PLAY!!
Well thank goodness we got this guy he looks really good both as An attacking mid and a deeper role. Especially with no signings so far he might be a real surprise for teams this year
