Luka Modric has been heavily linked with a move to AC Milan in the last week and when asked about the rumours himself, the midfielder couldn’t help but smile.
It was at the start of the week that Matteo Moretto revealed Milan’s concrete interest in Modric, who will leave Real Madrid this summer. Since then, many outlets have stated that the deal is as good as done, with the Croatian international keen on the move as well.
During today’s press conference with the Croatian national team, on the eve of the game against the Czech Republic, Modric was asked about the Milan rumours. He made it clear that he hasn’t made any decision yet, despite what the newspapers are saying.
“Milan? I can’t tell you anything about transfers. I want to stay focused on everything ahead with Real and the national team,” he began as cited by @CroatiaFooty.
“I haven’t decided yet, despite the calls and contacts that have happened. That’s the only truth.
“The World Cup is a big motivation, whether it will be the last one for some of us or not, we’ll see. We’ll see if I’ll be at the World Cup.
“I feel good, I’m healthy, and we’ll see where I continue my career. Of course, the desire is great. I haven’t made any decisions yet. I still feel good both physically and mentally,” he concluded.
After the conference, he was also interviewed by national TV and when the reporter mentioned Milan, Modric couldn’t help but bring out a smile. The transfer might not be 100% finalised just yet, but the feeling is indeed that he will end up at San Siro next season.

In other news, Milan officials still haven’t initiated contacts with Liberali and his agent about new contract. Clown squad strikes again.
Nowadays even an almost retired player simply cannot ‘decide’ if he wanna join us…
I’ll repeat: PLEASE, GOD, TAKE ME BACK TO THE 80’s!
He can if we offered him a contract… why not?
No thanks. He should only join as a coach, not as a player.
That may well be the deal – but no harm in registering him as a player too, so he can work alongside those youngsters on the pitch in certain moments. I don’t think we’d be signing him for 38 games starting.
You may get one season and 45 out the player but this is crazy. We have three or four kids who are waiting. They know each other from the youth sector and play for the badge.
Get modric, granit xhaka, rabiot all world class midfielder. Rovella and Tonali can’t even handle Norway. Ricci was there when time’s 5-7 minutes left.
Lol looks like he’s rejecting us.
Sell this our beloved Milan to Saudi Arabia people dat can inject money to football, about liberali contract pls renew it is our next pirlo, will need modric in our midst signed him.
