Tijjani Reijnders has had a quite simply brilliant international break, as he added to his goal tally for the Netherlands after less than two minutes last night, scoring against Germany.
After scoring a goal, getting an assist and hitting the woodwork in an outstanding display against Bosnia a few days ago, Reijnders followed it up with another great outing in Amsterdam.
In the second minute he collected a through ball from Rayn Gravenberch, and slotted under Marc-Andre Ter Stegen to make it 1-0, though the full-time score would end up being 2-2.
The Dutchman once again played as the attacking midfielder in a 4-2-3-1 and looked very comfortably doing so, which will give head coach Paulo Fonseca further food for thought.

The lay off, the run by the third man and the one touch pass…I am sad to say it but this is a move that Inter use all the time with great success.
Is Fonseca looking for soemthing to think about? So far he is alien to what can work, picking same setup that got Pioli fired doesn’t show he is smart.
Just play him at CAM for us surely can’t be that brain dead Fonseca!

RLC with double-left feet… double pivot takes skill, RLC has max 1…
I would try 2 options:
Fofana-Vos double-pivot with Reijnders as CAM and then Fofana-Reijnders double-pivot with Liberalli as CAM…
Venezia isn’t that hard go with each version per half-time and you will get bigger results than RLC in starting 11…
I agree with you. Get some physicality in the pivot to protect and then Reijnders as 10….it’s crying out for it
Most fans want to see Reijnders as a 10!, I hope Fonseca not only plays him against Venezia but gives him a run of games in that position with Fofana-Vos/RLC/Musah(whoever emerges with character in that position).
It would be nice to see Liberali cameo at no.10 in high pressure games too.
Oh I agree, Liberali is exciting. It’s about the cleverness with Reijnders, RLC is a ball carrier, he’s suite to a 3 man midfield not the pivot or no10. Yes he scored some goals, but was he be off cal to the rest of the attack in that role…
Yes Venezia midfield isnt too strong but their defence is a solid one. This is a good chancr for Fonseca to emulate few things before faced Liverpool and Inter

Yes I support rejnder to play as an attacking midfield then Chaka to be is deputy or liberali then Loftus cheek will play as substitute while musah and Fofana will play double pivot
Reijnders’ contributions here are not surprising. Anyone who understands his value will have argued to deploy him in a more attacking role…
And then there are others like Maldini’s Heir who don’t understand Dutchman’s value and contributions…
