Alexis Saelemaekers has arrived in Bologna and is about to begin his medical before sealing a loan switch there that will include an option to buy.
The ‘done deal’ status was confirmed by Fabrizio Romano among others yesterday evening. It will be a season-long loan costing €500k and an option to buy set at €10m next summer.
The Belgian has arrived to begin his medical and undergo fitness tests before signing his contract and being officially unveilved.

Absolutely. I’ll root for him because I do like him (despite the fact that I’ve been BEGGING for Milan to upgrade RW with him/Messias being so subpar and inconsistent); and also selfishly for Milan — it would be great if he impresses at Bologna so that they will end up paying us that 10 million next summer!
I wish him the best, perhaps a loan should have been done earlier but he does need more minutes to become a more reliable player. I did see improvement in his game each year he was with Milan however and I am upset to see him leave. No doubt he gave his all when he was on the pitch, regularly dropped back to help with defense and linked up well with whoever he was playing with. Just my opinion but I thought he was miles better than Messias and a promising player to keep long-term especially if he is a marginal cost. Similar to Kalulu who we seem to put on the selling block despite being a lower cost, young acquisition who have made strong contributions to the team when filling in for more experienced players who were above them in the order.
This is heartbreaking for me, I must admit. Salad is gone 😭
