Werner believes Cardinale wants to ‘replicate’ Liverpool success at Milan

By Oliver Fisher -

Tom Werner believes that Gerry Cardinale is hoping to recreate the success seen at Liverpool having taken over AC Milan with RedBird Capital.

Werner – former chairman and partner of Gerry Cardinale in the American holding that owns shares in Liverpool – spoke about the sporting and business targets of the new Milan owner in an interview with Business Insider, with his comments relayed by SempreMilan.it.

“I think Gerry has seen the value we have created at Liverpool and I think he hopes to replicate the success Liverpool has had in the Premier League with Milan,” he said.

It was recently announced that Liverpool have been put up for sale with Fenway Sports Group, who are looking for new owners to purchase the Premier League club, but so far nothing has been made official.

Now, Cardinale’s job will be to extract the best parts from the project that the Reds have in order to help accelerate Milan’s growth and journey back to being an elite European club.
