What Giroud said about the idea of ‘very, very talented’ Pulisic joining Milan – video

By Oliver Fisher -

Olivier Giroud is likely to be one of the AC Milan squad that will welcome the arrival of Christian Pulisic based on his comments from a couple of months ago.

According to virtually all major sources, Milan have agreed a deal with Chelsea which is worth €20m plus bonuses. The USA international is expected to arrive for his medical some time next week before signing his contract.

Pulisic knows Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek but he has also been provider for Giroud in the past. The Frenchman spoke about the winger during an interview with CBS Sports Golazo back in May.

“He was a happy boy, always good vibes, smiling, easy to have a laugh with him. My understanding on the pitch with him was top, a bit like Eden [Hazard], though I played less with Christian,” he said (via FootballItalia).

“He is very skilful, he can dribble, play the one-two, knew how to use me on the pitch and vice-versa. We had some good times together. I hope he can get rid of the injuries, get more consistency and games, because he is a very, very talented player.”

Giroud was also asked about the idea of Pulisic joining Milan, given there were rumours of it even back then.

“Ooh, good question. People here would love it, so would the coach, he is definitely a big name in Europe. Yeah, he could help us.”

  1. Great to have him on board. If the haggling over Chukuweze continues, Milan should strongly consider signing off on Kamada, move Pulisic to RW and get Reijners deal over the line. Then the focus should be on a decent striker. It would be good to get a deputy for Theo, our current LB is just not cutting it.

    1. I agree with you on this completely. I’m Still hoping the moneyball moron will give us SMS as a gift, but it’s about zero chance…
