With everyone’s minds slowly shifting to the 2025/26 season, fans are wondering what they can expect from him next year.
There’s no doubt AC Milan will be aiming high in the next campaign, with the team’s goal being to repeat the phenomenal 2021/22 season when they were last crowned champions of Italy. Commenting on Gimenez’s form near the end of the season, club legend Fabio Capello said that playing for AC Milan in times like this isn’t easy. He added that the Mexican did important things for Feyenoord, showing that he has the necessary quality to succeed.
The former England and Real Madrid manager thinks that once the team finds its rhythm and Gimenez regains confidence, he’ll return to his old form.
Of course, a lot will depend on how the AC Milan squad will look next year. With English giants Manchester City reportedly seeing Tijjani Reijnders as one of their key targets for the summer transfer window.
If the midfield can supply quality service, assuming Reijnders stays or is adequately replaced, Gimenez has the tools to thrive.
The next season is still a whole summer away, and many things will shape how successful both AC Milan and Gimenez can be next season. Still, it’ll be a chance for the Mexican to prove he can be a key piece in the puzzle and help charge the team towards a title run.
