AC Milan might have to sell a star player this summer without Champions League football, as Manchester City’s interest in Tijjani Reijnders has been confirmed.
Milan missing out on the top four will leave a hole in the budget, at least compared to recent season. Calculations suggest that from the get go, the Rossoneri will be €27m worse off than they would be had they qualified for the Champions League, even by being in the Europa League.

Thus, the ownership will have to decide whether they want to invest the same amount in the squad regardless, or if there are sales necessary to raise funds. This is no doubt one of the things that is being spoken about with the various sporting director candidates, if one even arrives.
Matteo Moretto has given an update on Milan’s strategy in view of the summer in a video on his YouTube channel, and his comments have been relayed by Francesco Nasato.
“On Reijnders, total confirmation of Manchester City’s interest. The Dutchman is among the top targets of the English team who are studying a possible offer. There have been no contacts yet with Reijnders’ agent or with Milan,” he said.
“Reijnders has always said that he gives top priority to Milan. The will of Milan would be to consider him untouchable, but we should first understand what City would be willing to offer.
“Without the Champions League, Milan will have to try to find a way out for some of the top players in the squad. I wouldn’t use the word unsellable for any of the players because a lot also depends on the size of the offer.”

Maybe it is just me….But I feel in a season leading up into a World Cup, there will be less players who crave extra matches. Being fresh for next Summer is going to be a goal for a lot of players.
I think we need to hold on to all our star players that are not demanding an exit. We need to have some ambitions for the coming season. Maybe do fewer targeted signings instead of tossing money left and right on players that end up doing nothing for us.
Theo, Maignan, Leao, Puli, Tiji are a must keep!
what we need are 1-2 CBs (depending on Thiaw), CM/CDM, support for Leao-Puli (depending on Felix stay and RLC future)…
If we only sell completely useless players like Teracciano, Emerson, Okafor, Chukwueze and the loan package bunch (minus Alexis), we would need only CB and Ricci
If Theo leaves, we can always use him with Real to get one of Paz/Brahim/Arda… and ask for Jimenez clause to be taken out… we would solve the support for Leao-Puli, but signing a quality LB with our budget is gonna be hard af…
Donnarumma is another option instead of Mike, Ibra has that big brother relationship with him…
Tiji on the other-hand is someone only Tonali can replace properly… such a class player
What makes you think that Real is interested in Theo Hernández? Because he used to be on their payroll?
Where would Arda or Brahim play if Leao and Pulisic are kept? Both are wingers and would essentially be replacing Real Madrid’s bench for Milan’s, especially if Milan plays 343. Why would they do that?
Real Madrid isn’t letting go of Nico Paz, and Nico Paz is probably worth more than Theo currently.
Donnarumma makes 12 m a year and is one of the best GK’s in the world. Whatever new contract he signs it’s going to be for around the same money. Not Milan, nor anyone else in Italy can afford that, big brother or not.
Only Tonali can replace Reijnders? Really? Out of 1000’s of players only Tonali can replace Reijnders?
You are living in the past by bringing up names of players that used to play for Milan.
Real’s bench has more competition and also Paz is in Como… and if we don’t bring anyone, who is gonna replace Leao/Pulisic?
on top of everything after RB signing yeah, they will need LB and after Davies extended with Bavaria… Theo is the next logical option… Grimaldo at Leverkusen is basically budget version of Theo, Xabi’s tactics will need him…
with the quality and stamina, yes, Tonali is the best option…
you keep glazing redBird, free country…
Real isn’t selling Paz, and Como has the option to buy him, with Real having a buy back option.
The question isn’t that Milan has to bring back ups for Pulisic and Leao, but why would Arda or Brahim leave Real Madrid’s bench where they don’t play much to come and do the same at Milan? If they are going to leave the best club in the world don’t you think they’d wanna go and play regularly somewhere? Why would they downgrade to be in the same position?
Theo is the next logical option for Real at left back according to your limited knowledge of football, not Real’s.
Grimaldo, a budget version of Theo?
Both Theo and Grimaldo are valued the same, and Grimaldo has been much better than Theo the last 2 seasons.
If Xabi Alonso is Real new coach don’t you think he’d rather bring a player in Grimaldo that he knows? So again who says that Real wants Theo?
There are 1000’s of box to box midfielders in Europe or around the globe, but again your limited thinking keeps bringing up Tonali. Milan isn’t spending 40/50 mil on Tonali, nor he wants to come back to Italy.
What does my comment had to do anything with RedBird?
The conversation had nothing
to do with ownership? Or because of your limited ability to hold a conversation you had to bring up ownership because you couldn’t get out of the garbage you wrote?
Have a good day.
ok Vova bot
Please bro no more dollarumma, tonali, Ricci, comuzzo fan boys again. They are yesterday bro..
Please again no more ancelotti, Italiano, conte , allegri or even Simone Inzaghi to conceicao replacement. Sergio already approve that he better than the coaches option.
Please again no more Davide ancelotti ? Who is he ?? Only guy who milking Carlo like a cow..
Please no dollarumma…
To be honest, for the sake of Tiji’s career it would probably be better to move to a club that knows where they are headed and what they are doing. Because Milan seemingly won’t get its act together anytime soon and Reijnders isn’t exactly 21.
City please buy the combo ( pulisic + reijnders ) for 150m pound. It could be massive achievement for the clown like furlani, scaroni and Gerry ‘sponge bob’ cardinale.. 🤣🤣
Red bird will surely sell him and get another midfielder from Vietnamese league at a discounted price.
Another midfielder from Vietnam? Who was the first one?
From Indonesia please…
TERRIBLE OWNERS, we all MILAN FANS especially the Ultras and the main FANS in Italy need to f… protest till this clowns sell the club. We became a joke since the bankers bought us and get rid of Boban and Maldini!!!! This guys are just milking Milan as a cow, till it drains totally and then leave us broke as F…
we are man united without money. Also i still don’t understand why they bought scotill and bondo for 10mil each and calling 37mil stani giminez deal that they were going all in. Even inter does not much money neither does napoli or atlanta but they are doing soo well and we are garbage of a football club , disgrace on you past glories
Milan no UCL ( maybe ) next season and the management have no money to spend out. The logically choice was sell with the highest price. 80m up for reijnders that’s good enough. If city buy reijnders, they already to cover de bruyne and guendogan positions. That’s smart buy and long-term target.
Please MoneyYourBall Moncada,, do your magic. Hahahaha
one solution to all milan’s problems, sell the damn club to some rich arab billionaire
