Longo: Why RedBird are ‘deeply convinced’ Lewandowski signing would be ‘attractive’

A journalist has claimed that owners RedBird Capital are the ones above all fascinated by the idea of bringing Robert Lewandowski to AC Milan.

Head coach Massimiliano Allegri left Casa Milan on Thursday evening after a three-hour meeting with the management. What has filtered since is that the coach, the directors and the CEO Giorgio Furlani are all aligned on the next step to take, hopefully with Champions League football in the bag.

One of the biggest signings that Milan need to make is a new centre-forward, given the struggles of the existing members of the attack. However, this has been the case for years and the club never seem to pick the right No.9, but this time they absolutely must get it right.

Longo: Lewandowski, Zirkzee, Vlahovic, Kean and Sorloth

Calciomercato.com journalist Daniele Longo spoke to MilanVibes about a number of topics connected to the summer transfer window, revealing some details on the various strikers that have been linked in recent weeks.

“Lewandowski has a salary issue, but that could be resolved by sitting down and understanding his agent’s demands and the boy’s intentions, who for a high-level experience might even consider lowering it a bit,” he said.

“RedBird is deeply convinced that a player like Robert Lewandowski would have plenty of sponsors to bring in, would be attractive, and would be an incredible commercial vehicle, especially considering how many fans Milan has in Poland.

“We need to see what happens with the agent, whether Pini Zahavi will move Nkunku from Milan, unlocking new opportunities, but this is a very interesting scenario – it’s not a prospect we can rule out.

“The name of Joshua Zirkzee doesn’t particularly excite Allegri in my opinion, he should be considered as an opportunity but in terms of characteristics he isn’t a goalscorer, Milan need a finisher.

“Vlahovic is notoriously Allegri’s favourite, even more so than Kean, but the problem is that Ristic’s demands are too high, so the Rossoneri are currently not pursuing this matter further, and we know he will give priority to Juventus, who could ultimately offer around €5.5 million and keep the player.

“As for Kean, however, dealing with Paratici is extremely difficult, especially given his relationship with Milan. Then there’s the issue of his tibia problem, which is unconvincing the Rossoneri. Without these issues, he would likely have been a priority for the Rossoneri in the transfer market.

“Sorloth has been proposed, he is interesting, even if he is not a name that I particularly like, but he is among the possible ones.”

  2. -anyone- who knows an inch of football would agree with this signing. This is madness. If we can sign him it would be a giroud times x2.

      1. Palestra, Fagioli and Chiesa are of Japanese origin? You really think I (would) have something against Di Lorenzo, Bellanova, Leoni, Scalvini, Buongiorno, Calafiori, Spinazzola, Cambiaso, Tonali, Verati, Retegui etc? Gabbia can maybe even remain in the starting XI but we should really replace Bartesaghi. How do you know I’m not from Italy and what gives you the right to ask me such things?

      1. i prefer Vlahovic cz his exp in the league + w/ Allegri & he’s younger.

        dream sign:
        Osimhen, Mateta, Sorloth & Camarda

        1. Yeah, Mateta would be great, and I wonder why we didn’t even risk the transfer via loan deal.

I don’t see us going after him anymore though. Our medical report for him would have magnified the severity of the injury.

  4. Stuff the 352 and go 433/4232.

    >>>>>>>> Rabiot >>>> Anguissa>>
    >>>> Pulisic >> Zaniolo >>> Diomande
    >>>>>>>>>>> Osimhen >>>>>>

    1. Diomande is a really good mention, and if we can somehow get him would be a very big asset.
      Out of reach? Maybe.
      Wishful thinking? Yes.

But would pick Porro over Kayode every day of the year.

      Fair enough team though.

      1. i think those Spaniard LB from Leverkusen is more ready than Udogie (we’ve Barte too), RB Bellanova/ Palestra better & cheaper than Kayode

        1. You’ve got a point with Bellanova.
Would take him in a heart beat but I think the aggressive style of Porro gets me more.

Grimaldo would be fine though, maybe slightly better than Udogie.
