AS Roma's Italian midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo

MN: Zaniolo only wants Milan despite Roma receiving bid from Bournemouth

Roma have received a sizeable bid from Bournemouth for Nicolo Zaniolo but the player is holding out for a Milan move, a report claims.

Earlier this morning, Sky journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Bournemouth have made an official bid to sign Zaniolo which is worth €30m as a guaranteed fee plus add-ons and sell-on clause

Then, an update from Di Marzio confirmed that the English club have reached an agreement with Roma over the fee, and now it comes down to the player’s decision and whether he wants to leave a side fighting for the top four to join a team that are battling to avoid relegation from the Premier League to the Championship.

A report from MilanNews confirms that Roma have indeed received an offer from Bournemouth for the 23-year-old, however the player only wants Milan and is pushing for the negotiation with the Rossoneri to go through.

  1. I would rather spend the money on a proper n10 than on Zaniolo.
For the right wing Milan should try and get Adama Traore who is a free agent in the summer and has a salary of 2.5 mil. He would bully Serie A.
I read somewhere that Napoli is already trying to sign him for next season, while we are trying to sign a player for a lot of money with the same production as Saelemaekers and lower production than Messias.
Fun fact. In his Serie A career Zaniolo has more yellow cards than g/a contributions. Reminder that he is a forward and his job is trying to score and assist goals, he is not a defensive midfielder to have more yellows than g/a

    1. 😂 😂 😂 Imagine Traore running rings round Dest with his pace. I sometimes wonder why we don’t look at such players. Anyway, Pioli may think he’s not ready.

    2. Charles denext Kaka should be our proper #10. We spent almost all our summer budget (and freakin time on negotiating back and forth) to sign him. Turned out he’s being our #0 instead (at least far).

  2. What do you mean it comes down to the player’s decision? Bournemouth offered 30+ mil and we offer 18 mil. Why would Roma accept our bid and not that one?

      1. No, he doesn’t have to go if he doesn’t want to. He can stay at Roma. But it’s their right to refuse an offer if they think it’s too low.

    1. Bro, sincere question, are you new to football? Even if a club bids some players their release clause, the player himself that will have the final say.

      1. Nope, not new. The player will chose one of the clubs that have a bid accepted. In this case, he will chose one of the clubs that offer 30+ mil, or he will stay at Roma. It’s not like some club can offer 1$ and get him just because he wants to play for that club.

  3. The fact that Bournemouth who are in relegation zone can outbid us is embarrassing. Even if zaniolo turns them down now milan will have to raise their bid which won’t happen

    1. Turned out that Zaniolo had rejected Bournemouth 10 days ago regarding other source. Sometimes player can affect the selling club decision. Closest example would be Vlahovic when Fiorentina received higher bid from Arsenal. If the difference is around 3-5 mil, I think we still have a chance
