Zeroli reminisces on Serie A debut and Italy U19 hopes: “We want to lift the Cup”

By Ben Dixon -

There is heaps of talent among AC Milan’s Primavera ranks, and one of the finest talents is Kevin Zeroli, a boyhood Milanista and now the captain of the youth team – he is set to play a large part for Italy’s Under 19 team in the European Championship.

Among the youth ranks at Milan, few players are thought of in higher regard than Zeroli, and there are a multitude of reasons for this. As mentioned, he is a boyhood Rossonero, he captains the side, and he is a fantastic player with a seemingly clear pathway to the First team.

Like with everyone, though, there is no pressure on his development, and it must be a natural progression rather than him being thrown into the deep end immediately, and the Futuro team -which he is set to captain – will be another welcomed step on the journey.

Zeroli spoke about the competition to the microphones of Radio Serie A, and his words have been relayed by Milan News.

“I am really happy to participate. We’re positive about this tournament: we’ll try to start strong as we have a title to defend. What counts is that we are a united and solid group. The minimum goal is to qualify for the World Cup, but we want to lift the Cup. The teams are all very strong, but we will play our best.

His Serie A debut…

“So far it is the strongest emotion I have ever felt. For a boy like me, born and raised in Milan, playing at the San Siro is the biggest dream: an enormous emotion. When the coach called me my legs were shaking, then once I got in I felt more relaxed: I have to thank Pioli for his trust.
