Slavia defender Zima advises Torino star to consider Milan move

By Ben Dixon -

Ahead of AC Milan’s Europa League fixture, Slavia Praha defender David Zima has offered his thoughts on the fixture, on the Rossoneri’s team and advised his former teammate to join the Italian club.

Zima rose through the ranks at Sigma Olomouc before earning a move to Slavia Praha in 2020, however, after just 37 appearances for the Czech club, he earned a move to join Serie A side Torino.

The defender was a regular in his first season in Turin, playing 20 times in Serie A, but his game time was limited in the past two seasons, which has resulted in him moving back to Slavia. However, his experience of playing at the San Siro and playing against Milan in general will be a great tool for the visiting side.

Whilst the visitors will be used to exceptional atmospheres, having an idea of what it is like to play at San Siro will be a huge benefit to the side, and listening to his experiences about playing at the iconic stadium could make a difference.

Additionally, having played against Milan under Pioli, he will be able to advise his teammates about how to counter the threats that the Rossoneri present, whilst also highlighting potential areas of weakness for his side to target.

Zima spoke to the media in the San Siro press conference room, and his comments have been relayed by MilanNews.

You’ve been here at the San Siro before…

“I played here and I have good memories. We won here with Torino in the Cup. It’s a beautiful stadium where a very exciting football team plays.”

You faced Leao…

“It was very difficult the first time because I didn’t know him. Then I gradually improved with experience. He is one of the best players in the world.”

Is Buongiorno ready for Milan and the national team?

“Alessandro is ready to play for the national team. If he gets an offer to go to AC Milan, he definitely has to go: it’s a great opportunity for him to play for a team as big and as strong as Milan.”
