Official: Gabbia signs contract extension until 2024 with AC Milan

By Isak Möller -

After impressing in the last two games, Matteo Gabbia has signed a contract extension with AC Milan, keeping him at the club until 2024. Most likely, it was planned before his recent success, but the timing is perfect.

The youngster replaced Simon Kjaer in the game against Torino, making his league debut with the Rossoneri. As he performed well, Stefano Pioli also gave him the chance from start against Fiorentina.

Although he was subbed off in that game, replaced by Mateo Musacchio, he once again proved that he’s mature enough for the leap to the first team. Considering Milan’s injury crisis at centre-back, his good outings couldn’t have come at a better time.

The San Siro side announced the extension on their official website just a few minutes ago. In other words, the youth project continues as Milan look forward to the future with several prospects in their squad.

“AC Milan is delighted to announce that Matteo Gabbia has signed a contract extension until June 30, 2024.

Matteo, who grew up in AC Milan Youth Sector, is therefore continuing his own story with the Rossoneri shirt,” the statement read.
