Theo Hernandez Milan

CM: A €30m difference – Milan lower price for Theo as Real and Man Utd circle

In the summer, AC Milan set a price for Theo Hernandez to leave the club, but no interested party came forward. Now, after a poor start to the season, the club have lowered the asking price.

The mercato, especially considering the top-value players, is a really difficult thing to partake in, as a buyer and a seller, and Milan are no stranger to this. On too many occasions they have overpaid for talent, and on occasions, they have underpaid (and made a profit) in the long run.

Then, there is the market for current players, and valuing them is no easy task. For example, Theo was once valued at €80 million, as Calciomercato.com recalls, a player at the top of his game with a few years left on his contract. However, this valuation has now changed.

After a difficult start to the season and some ‘very poor performances’, his value has understandably dropped. It is, by no means, a case of the Rossoneri ‘being willing’ to sell Theo, but with the current variables, the club would not accept less than €50m –  a €30m drop on their summer minimum.

Manchester United and Real Madrid are both keeping an eye on the situation, and this could cause the Diavolo to extend his contract, solely to get more money from a transfer.

  1. I believe that Theo’s time with Milan is over. He is clearly unhappy and unmotivated, and has turned into one of the worst players in several of the recent games. While I would prefer to see him recover his previous form and resume his contributions to the team, I do not believe that this will happen. For both Theo’s sake and Milan’s sake, it’s probably the time to part ways. If any club offers 50M for Theo, just sell him.

    1. What should have happened is that a more reasonable price should have been set this summer. The market has calmed down somewhat in the last couple of summer. City and PSG aren’t spending as big. 80M was way too high for Theo, even prime Theo. The price should have been set at ~65M. Now it’s down to 50M, and this summer it will go down to 40M, since he’ll only have a year left. Of the many issues with this ownership, selling/renewing is one of them, and lessons of the past aren’t being learned.

      1. If a player says during summer break that he’s not sure if he’s gonna stay – let him go. It’s a clear message that he doesn’t want to be here.
Make good money (ok, not 80, maybe for 60 someone would buy him) and look for the next player who’s ready to leave his soul on the pitch.
Theo probably wants to go to big fishes like Bayern or Madrid. We’ll probably never gonna see the same Theo in Milan shirt

    2. Clearly unhappy and unmotivated. Everyone is now a couch psychologist. Same nonsense with Leao. Selling Theo for 50 million, one to get another couple RLCs, is madness. Especially when are fianances are good

  2. Milan will extend Theo contract, because he is still Milan player. But in case of offer arrival they will agree price around 50 million.

Milan is in big problem. Only because they sack Pioli for no reason to bring clown 🤡

  3. Sacked pioli because he didn’t win 6 derbies they forgot how pioli kept us at second place for 3 seasons and won 1 Seria a it’s painful seeing what Milan is playin now

  4. Unbelievable so many on this forum are so quick to write Theo off and say to sell him for below market value at 40-50M??? Wow. How foolish.

Ya – sell one of your most prized assets on the cheap???? LOL 🤡. This is the kind of thinking that sets us back 10 years. And these are the same donkeys who screamed to fire Maldini because we couldn’t resign Kessie or Gigi. Makes zero sense. SIGN Theo FIRST – then if you have to down the road you sell. You do NOT sell him at a discounted price – he is top 3 LB in the world who is going through a tough spell currently – BUT that does NOT mean you dump him at a discount. Fkn 🤡 thinking.

Instead why not get this guy a real coach whose tactics doesn’t shackle Theo and lets him do what he does best.

So many fans that didn’t understand football on here. Crazy

  5. the problem is we are looking at situations wrongly.theo has been good and phenomenal for club and country but now has turned ordinary player under fonsesca.same with leao and till now we dont even have solid center back pairing.the coach is d problem not these players.he is yet to settle for a pattern till now and u expect d players to adapt to pattern changes week in week out.we will only regret selling these players like like we are regretting cdk, adli and others now.

  6. Theo is clearly unhappy and unmotivated but who wouldn’t be if the club you are playing for is overworking their players. For years Milan have not found or attempted to find a suitable player for a backup left back.

This has caused Theo to get burnt out and lose motivation because he’s always playing too many games.

The same thing will happen to Reinjders and Fofana if Milan do not get suitable players for the midfield so that these guys can get a break and always be at their best without playing so many games.

Theo’s poor form is because of Milan’s incompetent management and ownership. They don’t know how to manage players and how to run a football club.
