Luca Antonelli says this Milan are “a different side compared to the start of the season”. The Rossoneri have not lost in their last eight games, and they host Genoa at the San Siro on Sunady at 12:30 CET.
The defender who turned 29 on Thursday spoke to Milan Channel.
“We have a good group of players and we are showing that with our recent performances.”
“In the last six or seven matches, we have been a different team compared to the beginning of the season. We focus a lot on team-work and it’s there for all to see.”
Antonelli formerly played in a Rossoblu jersey for four years, playing over 100 matches and captaining them. He also scored his last goal for Genoa against Milan on 7 December 2014, before making the return to Milan.
“Genoa are a top team and they have a brilliant coach (Gian Piero Gasperini). Milan have lost their last 3 meetings with Genoa, but we are preparing in the best way possible because we need all 3 points.”
“We have encountered a few difficulties at the start of the season because there was a lot of changes, but we are now having a good season.”
“We must win this weekend, because after that we have a tough match at Napoli. However, at this moment all of our thougHts are on the match with Genoa.”
Antonelli praised, arguably Milan’s best player over the last two seasons, Giacomo Bonaventura.
“It’s easy to play alongside Bonaventura. He’s a great player. When we’re in trouble, he’s able to turn things around for us.”
