Abendzeitung: Bayern set price for defender with Milan, Liverpool and Man Utd interested

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan are among a number of clubs interested in signing Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich, who have reportedly set an asking price.

According to Abendzeitung, Bayern Munich want €30-€40m for Pavard this summer despite the fact he has just over a year remaining on his contract. They confirm that the Frenchman wants to leave Bayern for a new challenge abroad.

They add that Real Madrid, Liverpool and FC Barcelona are interested in signing the defender which Bayern hope will drive the asking price up.

The German source also mention Milan and Manchester United as being among the contenders to sign the former VfB Stuttgart man.

The news emerged after the 2-0 win against Lecce last month that Pavard was not only at San Siro to watch the game but he also visited the Milan dressing room, while he has previously spoken about his desire to play with Olivier Giroud.

La Gazzetta dello Sport suggested earlier this week that Milan and Inter are ready to contest a mercato derby to sign Pavard, with the defender open to a potential move to Serie A.

    1. Fundamentally correct, but there may be a way if we sell one of our other CBs. Namely, this would probably be Kalulu since he would represent max profit having been bought for 500k and now work about 30m. So that’s basically 30m to throw into this transfer and that would mean an actual spend of 10-15m for Pavard.

  1. Why go for this when the perfect right back is under our noses for less then half of the price and a quarter of the wages.

    Wilfrid SIINGO!!!

  2. €30m-€40m my foot.

When there’s Scalvini, who’s both Italian and left footed.

We’ll probably wait till next year when he’s free in the market. Oops! He said he’ll like to play with Giraud, wow my bad.
