Abraham admits Milan links ‘are nice’ but clarifies: “I’m focused on Roma”

Following the friendly against Everton, during which he remained on the bench, Tammy Abraham spoke to the media and shared his thoughts on the recent rumours. He admitted that the Milan links are ‘nice to hear’, though he’s focused on Roma.

Abraham didn’t play much last season due to an ACL tear that kept him sidelined until March, then focused on regaining his condition. This season, therefore, the Englishman is looking to bounce back and he has been heavily linked with a move to Milan.

The Rossoneri are looking for a striker to bolster the attacking department and Paulo Fonseca has made Abraham the No.1 choice. Speaking to the press after yesterday’s 1-1 friendly against Everton, as cited by Calciomercato.com, the striker shared his thoughts on the rumours.

On the rumours…

“There are rumours about Milan and they are nice, because it means I’m doing things well. However, this is my first preparation after the injury, I’m focused on Roma and what I want to do here.”

On the competition…

“The competition? Since I was a child, I’ve been used to competition, fighting for a place. Dovbyk is a great striker, but I want to do my part. And maybe one day De Rossi could even give us the chance to play together.”

On Tomori…

“If Tomori writes to me to go to Milan? We are great friends, we love each other, we talk often. But I repeat, my mind is on Roma.”

It remains to be seen what will happen as the negotiations with Roma are quite complicated. Milan are keen on a loan move while the Giallorossi would like a permanent move. Furthermore, the Rossoneri are also keeping a close eye on Chelsea’s Armando Broja.

  1. very good news not saying that he is a bad player but risking getting a player that has had 2 horrible season and one season being injured for 85% of the season is a pretty dumb move

  2. What a great news for all the fans.
If the management were ready to take risk on him, then channel that energy on Jovic or Okafor.

Emphasis on OKAFOR as he could be the fans overrated Jonathan David

  3. Tammy… Broja…. Why not Lucca at this point? Neither Tammy nor Broja (another team’s Origi basically) are confidence inspiring.
