AC Milan CEO Gazidis offers update on club’s plans, UEFA situation

By MaaxiAngelo -

During a meeting with the journalists at the start of pre-season on Tuesday, Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis gave some insight on the status on the UEFA situation and the club’s plans.

“Next time UEFA will check Milan’s financial results will be when Milan returns, as we hope, to qualify for a European competition in 2020/2021”.

As Milan got excluded from this season’s Europa League, they’re not under UEFA’s supervision to the same extent.

On what’s to expect from UEFA in the future, when Milan returns to Europe and comes under their supervision again, Gazidis says:

“What can be assumed is that during the phase in which UEFA will return to Milan’s situation, a journey starts towards finding a settlement agreement if it finds anomalies and is presumed to be a four-year journey.

“If it’s a settlement or voluntary agreement will depend on how UEFA will take stance when Milan comes back under their magnifying glass. Our objective is to create structured and virtuous financial fundamentals to give a sense of confidence to UEFA. Our goals are essentially the same as those of the UEFA.

“Step by step we have a clear vision of where we want to take the club. Obviously we will make mistakes on the road but we know the direction and we know we will get there.”
