AC Milan planning event during Bologna game to draw attention to fight against discrimination

AC Milan are planning an ‘activity’ for the Bologna game tomorrow night at San Siro which will draw attention to the fight against racism and all prejudice.

Sadly the issue of racism in football has been in the spotlight again since Mike Maignan was the target of abuse from Udinese fans during the game at the Stadio Friuli last Saturday night.

Shortly after Milan went 1-0 up, Maignan alerted his team-mates and the referee to the abuse he was getting from fans behind the goal. He was understandably upset and angry, with the players leaving the field, and Udinese have since banned five people.

As Milan’s CEO Giorgio Furlani said earlier today, the club are planning an activity for the match against Bologna tomorrow night to draw attention to the fight against any form of racism, prejudice, and discrimination.

It is an initiative that will further testify to Milan’s vision and approach, always committed to promoting the values of social equality and inclusion, in line with the Club’s RespAct Manifesto.

Furlani said: “Our dedication to combating all forms of racism and prejudice is concrete, not only in words but with tangible actions.

“It is crucial to actively work for significant change, addressing the issue with seriousness and determination. We are ready to do our part, in collaboration with the institutions of Italian football.”
