AC Milan Primavera 1-1 Atletico Madrid: Gala nets first goal to secure first Youth League point

By Oliver Fisher -

AC Milan’s Primavera side won their first point in the UEFA Youth League by drawing 1-1 with Atlético Madrid at Vismara this afternoon.

It looked like being a long 90 minutes for the Rossoneri when they fell behind early to a El Jebari goal, but Antonio Gala’s first goal of the season at the end of the first half got them on level terms at the right time.

Ultimately the equaliser and the timing of it served Milan well as Giunti’s side went in search of the goal that would give them all three points, but it did not come and they were made to settle for a draw.

Milan did come close to making it 2-1 as Alesi took a shot that skimmed off the far post and then in the 93rd minute Rossi had the chance to finish off a counter-attack from close range, but a last-ditch block prevented a dramatic late winner.

The next fixture for the Primavera will be in Serie A against Napoli at Vismara on October 15 at 15:00 CEST.
