Milan-Lecce: Our live commentary
This page is no longer live, but check back soon for more Live Blogs!
In the end, it was a very good performance by Milan and while they could have been more clinical at times, scoring three was certainly good enough.
They are now through to the Round of 16 in the Coppa Italia, where they will face Lazio away from home.

Two minutes added on.
On: Odogu.
Off: Pavlovic.
Nearly an own-goal there, woodwork saves Lecce again.
Pretty clear yellow card that, a push in the back from Pavlovic.
On: Balentien.
Off: Gimenez.
He’s unstoppable! Pulisic gets on the end of Fofana’s cross to make it three for Milan. Great finish considering how it came to him.
Milan 3-0 Lecce

On: Athekame, Pulisic.
Off: Saelemaekers, Nkunku.
Several good chances for Milan since the second goal, it feels like a third is coming (and soon).
Nkunku with his first goal for Milan! Fantastic finish on the volley at the back post, following a cross from Saelemaekers.
Milan 2-0 Lecce

Nkunku misses from close range! One-two with Fofana to create the chance, but the shot could’ve been better.
A really nice turn from the Englishman to create space, but his shot hit the post after a slight deflection from the goalkeeper. Third time Milan have hit the woodwork tonight.
Another 45 minutes to go, let’s home for some more goals.
On: Fofana.
Off: Ricci.
Milan dominated the first half, even before the red card, and it could’ve easily been 2-3 goals given they hit the woodwork twice.
Pavlovic nearly scores a stunner! Really good save by the keeper to deny his free-kick.
Loftus-Cheek fires just wide! Nice work from him to create some space and get a shot away.
Camarda brought down by the midfielder, tactical foul but didn’t seem necessary.
So close to another goal for Milan! Lovely cross from Saelemaekers to Rabiot, and he just about got there. His shot hit the post, though.
Gimenez gets his goal in the end! Great pass by Rabiot to set up Bartesaghi, who then picked out the Mexican in the box. Easy finish!
Milan 1-0 Lecce

The referee changes his decision and shows a red card instead, as the defender denied a clear goalscoring opportunity.
VAR check for a red card! Nkunku was brought down on the edge of the box after a nice turn, and it might be deemed as a red card.
Nkunku appeals for a penalty but the referee says goal kick. Might be a VAR check, but we’ll see.
Rabiot did incredibly well to find his compatriot at the back post and that should have been a goal.
Rabiot is denied by a great save after a very nice pass by Gimenez. Perhaps he should have done better there, though.

I hope the changes work and pay off. Glad to see more of Ricci.
Is it weird that I’m hoping Camarda scores against us today? I’m really rooting for his success, and now’s the time for him to start proving himself.
This liveblog form a strangely resembles that of Football Italia’s.
I wonder if we will be able to make live comments directly into the blog or only here into comments
Same media conglomerate.
But I don’t think comments can be made directly into the blog … At least not yet.
With The traction and traffic Sempre Milan has, it’s about time the comments section across board gets a HUGE UPGRADE.
It’s indeed the same! We’re both part of the Rocket network 🙂
Salad is lively. He’s ready to make this a good day.
maybe I don’t understand the rules anymore, but how was that not a penalty kick on Nkunku?
I know what Camarda is thinking
need this ref in the Serie a, maybe a soft red, but we deserve it. Santi man, but i see he just scored let me go watch
How can it be a soft red card if its deemed a foul ? the defender was the last man except the goalkeeper, that’s an automatic red card.
The Defender was going for the ball, based on the trajectory. It looked like an accident. Reds are Like Studs up Injury tackles, and Not going for the ball. its Leece B team.
Nope if a player is fouled by the last field player its a direct red card as it always has been in football as the attacking player is cheated of an open chance hence the direct red card and it doesn’t depend on the defenders intentions.
At last, forza Santi!!!
Big big big goal for Santi. Even though they are down a man. That is a big morale boost. Hope he continues at it
Absolutely hope it does help him regain his confidence.
A gentle reminder: The last penalty AC Milan received in Serie A was on March 30. WILD
And this is the Coppa so that record still stands.
Whoops, this was an open goal. So it wasn’t one anyways lol
Nice. Bartesaghi is playing pretty good. Gimenez was playing good all along, just missed that goal.
Pav is clumsy in tight space. Needs to play within himself
I think the only thing Santi needs to fix is his first touch. If he fixes that, and regains some confidence with goals and performances, he will be great for us. Giving up on strikers after a a bad spell especially when they haven’t been with us long is never good. We made the same mistake with CDK. CDK would also thrive in this team with how much more quality we have now compared to the last two seasons, especially in midfield.
Fk cdk but I agree on everything you said about Santi. If he gets his first touch in order then he will easily be one of the best strikers in the world he has everything else.
We have been running a riot on their arses for 90% of the first half and probably should have been ahead with at least 5 goals but we haven’t exactly been lucky either hitting the goal posts 2-3 times while their keeper also has had some good saves. If Lecce even have had a shot on Maignan I must have been away from the screen for a minute or two.
Keep it up guys.
Allegri is sh*t they say.. he plays sh*t football they say. Now ac Milan second team looks wey better than our first team of last season. Without leao or pulisic..
Allegri ball sucks indeed..lol.. with this I can boldly say we will beat Napoli…. Call me stupid 😎
I’ll rather call you Boulden the dude that is always complaining about other people complaining 😛 sorry if I’m wrong 😀
Great goal by Nkunku, gonna be a long evening for Lecce if it already hasn’t been so 🙂
Nkunku!
Our team just looks so good throughout.
The balloon is a nice touch for his son. A good guy.
we leave so many efn goals on the table. sickening
Solid win. Could have won by more. This team is finding its footing for sure.
3-0. Lecce being smoked at this point. Only took Pulisic 2-3 minutes lol
