Agent confirms Rodriguez needs to play; opens up to Napoli move

As a result of the performances of Theo Hernandez, Ricardo Rodriguez has struggled with playing time at AC Milan this season. As the Euros will take place next summer, there have been rumours of a potential exit for the left-back.

In an interview with Radio Marte this evening (via MilanNews.it), the agent of the Swiss international, Gianluca Di Domenico, spoke about the situation of his client, confirming that he needs more playing time from January and onwards.

“From January and onwards, he will have to play because the Euros are closing in. Ricardo wants to be a protagonist and to do so, he needs continuity with his club team. We made it clear to Milan that he has to play in the second half of the season,” he began.

Rodriguez played the first four games of the season from start, but then Theo Hernandez started performing. The latter has been one of the best players for the Rossoneri so far, thus leaving no space for the 27-year-old.

“For Gattuso, Ricardo would do anything and would go anywhere, even to Serie B. We don’t want to put any pressure on Gattuso, but if there was a chance, we will wait for it.

“Moreover, Ricardo has already spent his holidays in Naples so we are not liars when we say that he loves Naples. What is certain is that he wants to play,” he concluded.

When asked about the possibility of moving to Napoli, of which Gennaro Gattuso recently became the manager, Rodriguez’ agent certainly opened up to the move. In fact, he even stated that the player loves Naples.
