The agent of AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has suggested that the renewal of his client’s contract will not be a problem.
Pioli has been given a tremendous amount of credit for helping to engineer Milan’s resurgence since he took the job in 2019 after Marco Giampaolo’s disastrous 111-day tenure, with the Rossoneri now back in the Champions League and seemingly a potential Scudetto challenger again.
Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pioli’s agent Giuffrida spoke about the future of the Milan coach and in particular about the extension of his contract.
“The renewal? There is a daily discussion. The working group at Milan is fantastic, they built this Milan together by supporting each other. I hope they will continue together, it is almost a natural path,” he said (via MilanNews).
MilanNews reported how the management know they will be able to count on the unilateral clause and automatically extend his deal until 2023 and at the moment this option is ‘considered almost obvious’ given the results obtained. Either way, it does not seem as if there will be much of a problem ensuring that Pioli remains beyond the season.
