AC Milan will probably sign a new striker this summer. However, there needs to be an assessment of which route the Rossoneri go down.

Of course, we know this did not happen, despite a goal against his former club at the first chance. Goals came on occasion, but they were not consistent, so there are doubts about his ability from some, despite him not having the time to assert himself and adjust.
January signings normally take time to adjust, of course. However, moving to a new league with the pressure of Milan – and the pressures of playing for the club – make it difficult to hit the ground running.
In the nicest way to Gimenez, you have to be special to do that. That’s not to say he’s not, nor will he ever be. However, right now, he has a distance to go. So Massimiliano Allegri wants more firepower.

Luka Jovic is on the way out, it seems, whilst Francesco Camarda looks to be heading towards a loan move, with a number of clubs interested in his services. Lorenzo Colombo does not have a first-team place, whilst Tammy Abraham will not be purchased, at least not yet.
So, reinforcements are needed. Even if it is just two backups or another good option, and someone else to do a job when required. In any case, Gimenez cannot be the only one heading into next summer. The way the Rossoneri go about it, though, requires attention.
Dusan Vlahovic is the name on everyone’s lips at the moment, more so thanks to Allegri’s wish to re-unite with the striker. However, with his wages and personality, there can be debates about whether it is the right move.
Then, you have to question the profile of someone like Lorenzo Lucca. Again, questions are present here, though. Can he be a backup option different enough from Gimenez and provide value in the squad?
Investment is required, but the level at which the Diavolo make and the quality is unclear. Clarity is definitely needed, quickly, for themselves and the fans.
