Former AC Milan midfielder Massimo Ambrosini believes that the Rossoneri will not miss Franck Kessie while Ismael Bennacer is playing at a high level.
A lot of the speculation surrounding Milan’s summer market has been regarding the arrival of a new central midfielder to help fill the void created after Kessie joined Barcelona. Tommaso Pobega returned from loan to bolster the ranks numerically, but there is still a suggestion that another player is needed.
Despite this, Bennacer has started the season in excellent form and will hope to be a leader of the engine room alongside Sandro Tonali, which means another starter-level player might not be required.
Speaking to DAZN after the 1-1 draw between Atalanta and Milan at the Gewiss Stadium, Ambrosini was asked if the Diavolo are currently missing a player with size and physical presence in their rotations.
“Will Kessie be missed? With a Bennacer like this… but it is also true that the last Kessie was decisive,” he said (via SempreMilan.it).
“Maybe yes, a midfielder is missing. If they find an opportunity, it is worth the effort there. They do not live with anxiety, however, the possible arrival of a midfielder.”
We don’t need another midfielder just to sub. We will however need one if we actually run 3 mids like i feel we should. We need to change to a 3 man mid and run tonali bennacer and adli. Then cdk can be am and up top can be leao and giroud/origi/rebic. If we do this then we will need 1 more mid and honestly I like it because I hate seeing us play with a RW when all of our options are so so poor.
Why Adli is not given an opportunity. His display on pre season was promising.
Obviously we need another midfielder .
Malinowski was shooting unmarked at least five times just outside the area…If a quality player shoots unmarked, it’s a matter of time for him to find the target.
Also Benaccer and Tonali will not be able to play ALL the games…thus Pobega for me is too slow of a player and Krunic will give some elements but the team will lose crucial power in the midfield.
Midfielder – RW and if Kjaer is not as he used to be,then a CB is need too.

I think Adli is under a personalised programe to gain more weight and muscles.
He will probably be ready to play Champions League. 🙂
He will contribute a lot this season I’m sure.
