Even though Yonghong Li is no longer the owner of AC Milan, the Chinese businessman could still be facing further problems in relation to the club. In fact, China have opened an investigation into the 50-year-old.
As reported by ANSA (via Calciomercato.com), contacts have taken place between Chinese authorities and the Prosecutor’s office in Milan, as the investigation also relates to the takeover of AC Milan back in 2017.
Yonghong Li is being accused of false accounting, as a result of some of the documents he provided during his time in charge of the Rossoneri. Per the report, the investigation is in full swing to get to the bottom of the matter.
Furthermore, as the report continues, a company that the businessman listed as one of his biggest assets filed for bankruptcy last February. Therefore, the investigators now want to shed some light on the money he used to buy the Italian club.
