GdS: Pioli studies how to revive Piatek; the plan

The work that Stefano Pioli will have to carry out at AC Milan is rather difficult and one of the first missions that he will have to deal with is reviving Krzysztof Piatek.

The Polish striker has scored just two goals for the Rossoneri this season, both of which came from the penalty spot. In other words, he has failed to replicate the excellent start he had last season at Genoa.

As reported by La Gazzetta Dello Sport (via MilanNews.it), Pioli is expected to use the 4-3-3 formation, which seems to be the best system to enhance Piatek’s chances. Unlike Giampaolo, the new boss will make the striker the focal point.

On the flanks, it will be up to the wingers to provide him with as many balls a possible into the penalty box, as he has proved to be very lethal is this area. Gimapoalo’s philosophy didn’t help these characteristics, the report states.

Then again, a lot of it also depends on Piatek, as his teammates can only do so much. Furthermore, Leao is ready to challenge him for a spot in the middle.
