The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all football clubs over the world as revenue streams have decreased significantly. Although Milan are in a good financial position, they will join the other Serie A clubs in a request to the FIGC.
According to ANSA, as cited by MilanNews, the Serie A clubs will request to postpone the current deadlines for the payment of salaries. The hypothesis on the table is to change the deadlines for the last four months of the 2020/21 season.
This means that the deadline for March payments will be pushed back a month from May to June, April payments from June to July and so on. The request will be made at the next meeting which will take place on May 17th.
Of course, this could help the clubs greatly as the last year or so has been far from easy. It remains to be seen if the request will be granted but the feeling is that there won’t be any problems.
