AS: Real Madrid have made a decision on Milan loanee Brahim Diaz

By Isak Möller -

Brahim Diaz is currently on loan at AC Milan but the current arrangement will expire in the summer. While the Rossoneri are willing to keep the Spaniard, it seems Real Madrid might overrule that.

The Spaniard has been an important player for Milan this season, especially in the Champions League, and with five goals and two assists to his name the Rossoneri are willing to sign him permanently.

However, as reported by AS this morning, Real Madrid are planning for a revolution of sorts and Brahim Diaz is part of that plan. There’s no formal buy-out clause in the loan deal for Milan, just a gentleman’s agreement, and the Bernabeu side have decided to keep Diaz.

This might open up space for Yacine Adli, who was signed from Bordeaux back in 2021, or Milan could make a move for Houssem Aouar on a free transfer. In any case, they will have to replace Diaz somehow.

  1. This is the best news for Milan if it is true. Diaz is a bum. If you look at his history with Milan, he will have one or two decent games and then does nothing for a month. We have become so desperate for a quality player that we let one good performance blind us to the fact that this guy is not good consistently. If he leaves, which I am praying he does, it will force Milan to find an alternative which will be better in the long term, whether it is a new player or to give CDK or Adli a real chance to grow into that role. What we have seen from Diaz is the best that he will ever be, good one game and worthless the next 8.

  2. “If you look at his history with Milan, he will have one or two decent games and then does nothing for a month.”

Just like the Portuguese “Game Changer” demanding insane wages.

    1. Is that the guy who won the Serie A MVP last season?

Leao is out of form. But let’s not argue about a caricature of him.

      1. LOL. The village idiot has crawled out of her parents’ basement again. Nice to hear from you. Are still trying to educate yourself how 40M€ is bigger than 0€? Good luck with that. Maybe one day you’ll learn it. But I honestly doubt that.

  3. Right now he is the only one in midfield who creates something. Not a big fan of diaz but facts are facts. As of now we don’t have a better am than diaz. Cdk has had more than plenty of chances and nothing as of now. Adili, yes he could have more chances but maybe he is not good enough. So for him to go without a proper replacement is suicide. Cdk and adili WILL NOT fill his shoes. Someone else is needed.

    1. There are players that can deliver the performances that elevate Milan and bring joy to Milan fans, Osario, Gabriel, Doku, Victor Roque etc. If only Maldini will open his eyes!!

  4. Real wanting to keep Diaz is a great outcome.

It forces us into action for the #10 role. Diaz is not close to making the sort of improvement that justifies €20m. He’s fundamentally the same player he was 18 months ago.

He will be better in La Liga because it is less physical and more suited to his style of play. But I have a very hard time believing he will see a lot of game time at Real.

I’d bid Diaz farewll and wish him best of luck.
