Marca: Atletico Madrid rumours fuelled by comment from Theo’s entourage – ‘Hopefully’

Theo Hernandez is in the sights of Atletico Madrid, and his entourage have leaked that he hopes to make a return to the Spanish capital.

Theo’s situation at Milan has deteriorated over the past 12 months, starting with performances on the field that were nowhere near his previous levels. Then there is his deal expiring in 12 months, plus the tension after he turned down Saudi Arabia, with the Rossoneri standing to get €30m+.

Theo wants Atletico

Marca‘s report mentions a one-word response from Theo’s representatives when quizzed on whether he might move to Atletico: “Hopefully.” It is a scenario that seemed unthinkable when he swapped Atleti for Real Madrid years ago, but is now becoming increasingly possible.

After a search for left-backs to strengthen the defence, Theo’s name was put on the table. An option that Carlos Bucero, the sporting director, views favourably, although not everyone agrees given what happened with his departure.

The fact that the top boss endorses the operation helps Theo, while Milan have made it clear that the defender is on the market. So, Atlético have a real chance of signing him for a price that doesn’t significantly exceed €20m.

It all started, in any case, with a call from Theo’s entourage to Atlético Madrid. His problems with Milan put him on the market, and an old friend of the club – Manuel García Quilón – appeared to offer his signing.

What was initially a sign of disbelief was becoming an increasingly real possibility, although it’s not yet a done deal. It was Theo who ruled out a move to Saudi Arabia, despite the financial offer seeming irresistible, because he wants to make sure he is a starter at the 2026 World Cup.

  1. If he insists to refuse Al-Hilal, put him on the bench for next year. He enjoys to see Milan suffer due to his issue with the current management. He has zero loyalty to the shirt and the club

    1. So you want to tell me that if you boss comes to you and say you are moving to China or Saudi Arabia and you will sign a contract with these guys and work for them you would do it? Do you have any brain or just a piece of rope to hold the ears together?

The offer for him is 15m because they don’t really want him. They would be signing him as a favor to his agent “an old friend of the club – Manuel García Quilón – appeared to offer his signing.”

    1. Yes, clubs always sign players as a favour to friends of the club. You are seriously mentally ill. You can’t be sane an come up with such construct

  3. If he is leaving. Who is Milan signing? Zinchenko? It is like selling a broken Mercedes and getting an old Dacia. Yes, the Dacia works right now but when it breaks it is scrap. They can’t come up with a proper LB?

  4. Pay an appropriate amount or he can stay and leave on a free next year. I’m glad to see Tare being strong with Mike and Theo. Meet our valuations or piss off.

  5. @NO “Is your existence just a glitch in the universe’s code, or were you designed to fail? Generally, If stupidity was a superpower, you’d be invincible.
