MN: Brahim Diaz and Dest injury updates arrive as Pioli says it ‘does not seem anything serious’

By Oliver Fisher -

There were a couple of injury worries for Stefano Pioli to contend with during AC Milan’s 4-1 win over Monza this evening, and some updates have arrived.

Pioli made a change at half-time as Sergino Dest came off in place of Pierre Kalulu which seemed strange at the time given that the USA international had been having a good game and probably his best start since arriving.

Then the two-goal hero Brahim Diaz was forced off in the second half after pulling up clutching the top of the back of his leg, clearly suggesting it was some kind of muscle tweak.

According to MilanNews, Brahim Diaz suffered a contracture in his left buttock, while Dest came off at the interval due to feeling some muscle fatigue.

Pioli gave an update after the game, when speaking about Brahim Diaz: “He likes to act on the centre-right, today he had to stay upfield. When he is well you can see, he has fresh legs, his opponents struggle to catch him. He has muscle fatigue: it does not seem anything serious for him, nor for Dest.”
