Sandro Tonali is ready to start his new adventure with Milan. As the Rossoneri secured the signing last week, the midfielder was pulled out of Italy’s squad to complete the deal and his medicals are expected soon.

In an interview with the newspaper Il Messaggero, as cited by Milanlive.it, Brescia president Massimo Cellino spoke about the midfielder’s future. Obviously, the most interesting parts concern Tonali’s imminent move to Milan.

Brescia were relegated to Serie B following this past season and it became clear that the midfielder needed to move on, after an impressive first season in Serie A. Cellino revealed that it gave him ‘twice the pleasure’ to sell to Milan.

“It had never happened to me to discover such a strong player. I wanted to keep him, but unfortunately, the dream was shattered with the relegation and uncertainty transmitted by the pandemic. Furthermore, Sandro has supported Milan since he was a child.

“Therefore, selling to Milan gave me twice the pleasure. I also respected a club that gave value to money. Maldini has the AC Milan DNA and has all the prerequisites for becoming a great manager,” he concluded.

It remains to be seen when Tonali will undergo his medical, though it could reportedly take place tomorrow (Monday). In any case, he will be a very important addition to the midfield, which will be very competitive this upcoming season.
