Cagliari 3-3 AC Milan: SempreMilan watchalong and live commentary

AC Milan are up against Cagliari this evening and the goal is to clinch another win, thus keeping the Scudetto dream alive. With Francesco Camarda playing from start, the Rossoneri fans are surely keeping a close eye on this one. 

Paulo Fonseca and his men surprised many with the 3-1 win against Real Madrid, but they didn’t have loads of time to celebrate the big win. Tonight, they are up against Cagliari and as admitted by Fonseca, this will be tougher in some respects than the Real game.

  4. Reinders is arguably are best player behind pulisic rn. Not as consistent, but when he shows up he’s phenomenal. About time Leao put one away

  5. Hey, Cagliari’s goal was totally Leão’s fault!!! I mean, Emerson gives the ball right back to them causing the corner kick, then Theo leaves the scorer totally unmarked. OK, so, of course it’s Leão’s fault!!! What isn’t Leão’s fault? Absolutely nothing. EVERY bad thing that happens to Milan of course is 110% Leão’s fault, even when he is not playing on the pitch.

    And then Leão scores a golazo on Reijnders’ superb assist. But that’s because Leão was just lucky!!! He is LAAAAAAAZY!!!

    The above is what flyingturtle, K, and bb will say. Or at least what they’d like to say, but their act is becoming so old that many other posters here have been challenging them, so, maybe they will lay low for a while. Or else, flyingturtle will go into another prophanity-laden personal attack, which he does when he is discombobulated by Rafa’s excellent performances.

    1. Kiddo relax. You can acknowledge when he’s good, and also when he’s lazy and ineffective. Not a single person here can say he earns his wage in every single game. He’s a 50/50 bet everyday. That’s just the reality. Be an adult and recognize it

      1. I criticize him plenty. I’ve given him scores of 5 and 5.5 in many games. I’m very adult about it… I acknowledge that he doesn’t defend well, doesn’t track back often, and has a small work rate.

        However I don’t scapegoat him every time like those three do. Did you see K’s post bashing him extensively even after the 3-1 victory in Madrid where Rafa had a superb performance?

        THOSE are the ones who need to be adults.

  6. That second Cagliari goal didn’t look offside. Lol Monza got a clear canceled goal too. Guess we are becoming Juve. I would prefer for us to become like the old Milan tho.

  10. It’s crazy how night and day Thiaw goes every game. Looked solid vs madrid, but he’s been beaten to every ball tonight so far. It’s concerning. Ik he’s only filling in while Gabbia is out but still

  13. Thaiw is very mediocre, but the other teams just aren’t scoring their chances. If even half of these glorious chances were put away after his weak defending, he’d for sure be dropped.

    Seems to me a definite case of the outcome dictating decisions, and not his performances.

    Tomori made that one mistake where he missed the header which resulted in a goal, and nobody will ever forget it.

    1. They need a leader and the leader is out injured, the man who can organise a defense is out and that’s Gabbia. The others are decent but they can’t organise a defense

    1. Emerson play great,better look next time.Theo have mistakes but we lead and only that is important. 3points and that is. If you want great game then watch again against Inter and Real.

      1. I don’t blame Fonseca for a bad pass by Fofana or Theo playing like crap. Milan’s D is just not good. Theo, Emerson and Pav are all mediocre defenders. Need Gabbia back.

  23. This is likely the worst defensive performance all season. This game should be 6-2 for them rather than 2-2. The entire back line and even Fofana destroying the good work done by the forwards. We can’t win this way.

    1. He seems to be the only truly intelligent defender there. Kjaer used to do the intelligent organizing work when he was active, directing the positioning of his companions. Even when Kjaer was athletically more challenged due to his growing age, he was still extremely good at positioning and at instructing his peers to be that, as well. Now we’re left with faulty positioning. Gabbia is also positionally aware; his injury left our defense even more fragile than it already is.

      I think we’ll end up losing this game. Another half hour of this horrible defensive work, and they will score again.

  26. On the bright side, if Emerson gets enough yellow card accumulation, Fonseca will be forced to play someone else who will be useful👍

  27. Fonseca went to a 5-men defensive line which is good. Also Musah and Okafor and even Abraham are decent at helping the defense so now I’m more hopeful that the result will stand.

  35. Theo and Palovic are terrible. Pavolic is useless with his height. About 75% of the goal conceded this season are from that side of the field especially with Theo and Palovic combination. The two lack awareness about what is going on behind likewise beside them.

    Fonseca is yet to give Milan playing pattern. No disrespect, Cagliari should not be a team pegging us back like that when the gave was 2-3. A possession football team would have denied them access to the ball. Aside Tijani, we lack players that can dictate processional football. Fonseca isn’t a coach it obvious and many of Milan players are below Milan Standard.

    2. I will give credit to Cagliari LB Augullo the way he push forward and his crosses are perfect. Milan concede 3goals similarly from his crosses.

  36. We shud all pray to qualify for champion league this season..I think that would be a better achievement bcos with this kind of displayed we av ben showing in the league is not for a potential champion.

  38. Defense is in shambles. I think that we need to ship RLC back EPL Fulham or Everton. Get another ATM, CF and Defender. Gabbia is the only proper Defender we have.
