Calabria on Milan vs. Panathinaikos: “We played a good game and had fun” – video

By Isak Möller -

AC Milan played their final pre-season friendly last night and ended on a strong note as they beat Panathinaikos 2-1. It was a positive outing for several players, including Davide Calabria who got an assist.

The right-back is returning to match fitness and has looked very good for the Rossoneri recently. Last night, he was very active on the right-hand side and was rewarded with a beautiful assist for Olivier Giroud.

In an interview with MilanTV, as you can see in the video below, Calabria spoke about the game and the general feeling.

“It was important to win today and also to have a good performance with the right rhythm: match rhythm. We did that, we’re happy, we played a good game and had fun. It’s great to finally see the fans in the stands, we missed them.

“Their keeper did well on a few occasions but it’s important that Giroud scored, he’s the striker and he needs to score. I’m happy with my performance, I’m returning to match fitness, we’ve got just a week until the opener but we’re in good condition.

“We want to start the season as we finished the last one, it’s going to be a good and competitive season and we can’t wait to begin,” he concluded.
