With a total of 245 minutes played, Hakan Calhanoglu is the most used midfielder by Giampaolo thus far. Not surprising given how important the Turkish international has been for the team, especially in the last two games.
Against Brescia in the second round, Calhanoglu scored the winner early on after sneaking into the box. For the clash against Hellas Verona, the manager stood by the player, starting him in the midfield while opting to play Paqueta further up the pitch.
Once again, it paid off, as the Turk won his side the deciding penalty after a nice one-two move with Piatek, eventually striking the ball onto the hand of a Hellas Verona defender. In other words, he has been heavily involved in the last two wins.
Thus far this season, he has played 245 minutes, which puts him in first place among the midfielder. As expected, Kessie comes in second and we will most likely see the Ivorian play many games this campaign, just like last time out. Down below is the complete list (via MilanNews.it).
1. Calhanoglu: 245 minutes
2. Kessie: 210 minutes
3. Paquetà: 148 minutes
4. Bennacer: 102 minutes
5. Biglia: 90 minutes
