Carrarese were the surprise package of Serie B last season in the eyes of many, and they are now eyeing a surprise double swoop.
After having been promoted from Serie C via the play-offs, many expected Carrarese to be in the relegation places last season. However, they won 11 of 38 games and ended up finishing 12th, quite a comfortable survival relatively speaking.
Camarda and Liberali to Carrarese?
In today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport (via MilanPress), Antonio Calabro’s side are aiming to bolster the squad ahead of another season in Serie B and would like to lower the average age of the team thanks to two loans.
The Tuscan club are great admirers of a pair of talents who grew up in the Milan youth sector. The first is Francesco Camarda, but he is also wanted by Serie A clubs and it is difficult to imagine the continuation of his career at the Stadio dei Marmi.
The second is Mattia Liberali, who was already pursued in 2024 by the same team. It would be a dry loan deal for either/both players, while for Liberali there are some doubts about his contract situation given that his current deal is set to expire in 12 months.
