Castillejo makes stance clear on Milan future; praises Hernandez and Ibrahimovic

Ever since Suso left AC Milan in January, Samu Castillejo has been untouchable on the right-hand side. The Spaniard has certainly upped his performances just when the Rossoneri needed it.

In 2020, the former Villarreal man has played 11 games in all competitions, bagging one goal and four assists in the process. The departure of Suso has certainly given him more space and he hasn’t disappointed the fans.

Speaking to Spanish outlet AS (via MilanNews.it), Castillejo was asked about his future with Milan. In January, and last summer, there were rumours of a potential return to Spain but nothing materialized in the end.

The winger also took the opportunity to praise both Theo Hernandez and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who have been crucial for the Rossoneri this season.

“Ibrahimovic? He’s a very humble man. He gets along well with all his teammates, he’s very nice off the pitch. During training he can give advice, he came to help us: it gives you a lot to share the dressing room and the pitch with him.

“Hernandez? In Spain, he had shown his potential with Alaves, but given his age, it wasn’t easy to find space in Madrid. Every player needs safety and space. Now Theo is showing all his talent, which is a lot,” he concluded.

It remains to be seen if the season will be resumed, though it’s clear that Castillejo will be an important player for Milan in the potential ‘phase two’.
