Chelsea defender names AC Milan star among three hardest opponents faced

By Oliver Fisher -

Chelsea defender Reece James has named AC Milan star Rafael Leao among the three hardest opponents that he has ever had to face.

James was asked by a fan during a question and answer session on Twitter who the hardest opponent is that he has ever had to face, to which the full-back replied: “3 hardest players I’ve ever played against are all left wingers! Vinicius Jr, Leao and Mane!”

It is high praise for the Portuguese winger who faced off against James in the Champions League group stages and was ultimately unable to find a way past the Chelsea academy graduate at least in terms of making a dent on the scoresheet, though he did have some interesting duels with him in both legs.

Of course, there will be some that suggest these comments fuel the transfer rumours linking Leao with a potential move to Stamford Bridge, but the former Lille man admitted earlier today that he had a positive meeting with Paolo Maldini before the World Cup over his extension.

  1. Milan needs to keep leao, i know milan can get 100mil for him and can buy gakpo or another player then but there will be a question mark if they will perform and leao is loyal to milan another player will milan see as a step and if they reach the potential of leao they will say that they want to go to a real madrid or a barcelona leao is willing to go for a 5 year deal that means he wants to help milan reaching the top again

    1. How exactly do we know he wants to sign a 5yr deal? Cos he said so? And why on earth did.he change agents, give power of attorney to another lawyer while negotiations.were ongoing?
Kessie said more sweeter words. When he pens a contract then we will know for fact he wants to stay.
All the press coverage they are getting, both himself and bennacer are just the maneuvering of their agents and proxies to squeeze out a better deal. If you remember the figure kessie or donnarumma wanted kept changing each time there was a press leak on the issue, up until they left for free. So i am.not impressed with their statements only with their actions. Lets see how it all pans out.

    2. “leao is loyal to milan”

LOL!!!! Based on what? He seems to be loyal to the highest bidder. I don’t think you know what the word “loyal” means.

  2. milan should offer him fair salary and lets see if where his loyalty stand , the ones that run our club are dumb you don’t see renewal problem to other big teams , only ac milan loose key players every year by being cheep just see our salary compare to other italian teams like juventus ,
how much players like Rafael Leao or ismail will get at juventus ,
its our management that doing us dirty its not the players ,
players talented like Rafael Leao don’t come long very often if we loose him its over for us for many more years ,
players that you can build champions league winning team around is almost impassable for italian teams to get their hand and we get one , and we can’t keep him because we don’t want to give him decent salary is mental ,
Rafael Leao has potential to be best player in the world you don’t loose player like that whatever the price

    1. “the ones that run our club are dumb you don’t see renewal problem to other big teams”

Yeah… Learn from Juventus, eh? Their leaders know how things should be done. And Inter has no issues with renewing Skriniar, right?

Juventus made a 250M€ LOSS last year EVEN WITH FIXED finances!! What is the real amount I’d like to ask. 🙂

They can’t even pay their salaries without frauds so yeah… Let’s learn from Juventus, alright. 😀 😀 😀
