CorSport: Chelsea wait for developments as midfielder looks to end Milan nightmare

By Oliver Fisher -

Tiemoue Bakayoko does not have a future at AC Milan and a solution will have to be found regarding his loan, a report claims.

Corriere dello Sport (via MilanNews) write that if on the one hand Olivier Giroud appears destined to extend his deal in the coming weeks, the story is very different for his compatriot Bakayoko regarding his future with Milan, or lack thereof.

He struggled for consistent game time last season and this season so far he does not have a single competitive game. In the summer he was close to both a move elsehwere and the termination of the two-year loan, but it fell through.

The issue relating to Bakayoko’s contract also has implications for Chelsea where he will return next summer. The midfielder wants to get more playing time and his agent also pointed this out in an interview granted to TMW in which he said: “The current status quo doesn’t do anyone any good, I’m very sorry. We’ll calmly evaluate the opportunities with Milan.”

The options seem to be a return to Chelsea in January to look for new accommodation or to stay at Milan and return to London in the summer.
