CM: AC Milan contact Calabria’s agent – between renewal and complicated future

By Isak Möller -

As the January transfer window is just around the corner, AC Milan are evaluating decisions that will affect the present and future. In these days, there have been many meetings for Boban and Maldini, whose schedule is very busy.

Therefore, as Calciomercato.com reports, the meeting between the Rossoneri leadership and Alessandro Lucci, the agent of Davide Calabria, can’t go unnoticed. For the first time in a while, the parties returned to talking about the contract renewal.

The renewal, in fact, seemed as good as done quite a few months back, but it was never formalized. Per the report, Milan and Calabria had reached an agreement on a two-year extension (until the summer of 2024) with a slight adjustment to the salary.

However, the deal remained on hold until today’s contacts. For Calabria, the Rossoneri had thought of a potential sale in January, which would guarantee them a full capital gain. Now, though, the plans of the San Siro side have changed, according to the report.

The defender is no longer destined to leave the club this upcoming transfer window. Therefore, the parties have started working on the renewal again. However, the renewal won’t be a guarantee for the summer, as Milan would evaluate any offers.
