Angel Correa is a regret for AC Milan. In particular for Zvone Boban who, together with Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara, tried hard to bring the Argentine striker to San Siro last summer.
The Rossoneri offered €40m plus bonuses to Atletico Madrid, as Calciomercato.com recalls, convinced that the Argentine was a perfect fit for the team. The player had already said yes to the move, subsequently giving up Champions League.
However, the Spanish side rejected the offer and deemed Correa unsellable. Milan have kept in touch with the player’s agent Augustin Jimenez, reiterating their admiration for the Atletico man, although with focus on Matias Zaracho and Rodrigo De Paul for the summer.
Meanwhile, Correa continues to perform well on the pitch. This season, he has five goals and seven assists in La Liga. If Atletico wanted €50m for him last summer, they will want even more now, which makes the deal complicated for Milan.
