CM: €15m striker came close to joining Milan in January as new strategy emerges

Adolfo Gaich and AC Milan, an interest that goes further back than many would assume. The 21-year-old striker has attracted the interest of several clubs thanks to his performances for San Lorenzo, a report claims.

According to Calciomercato.com’s Daniele Longo in his latest video, Paolo Maldini nearly signed Gaich in January after being in advanced talks with the player’s agent. However, Elliott’s go-ahead was missing and in the end, they decided to focus on Ibrahimovic.

Inter are also interested in the striker, who will cost less than €15m. Milan’s idea is to have him as an alternative to a more experienced player, such as Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic whose candidacy remains very strong.

A lot will depend on the future of Ricky Massara, the Rossoneri’s sporting director, as he’s the one carrying out the negotiations with Gaich’s agents. With Ibrahimovic leaving, though, it seems clear that two strikers will be brought in this September.
