CM: Everton tried to offer €30m for Milan winger last summer – the background

In the centre-forward role, temporarily replacing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Rafael Leao found some success with three goals and one assist in five league games. Finally, the Portuguese winger is showing his full potential.

At the start of his Rossoneri adventure, he received a lot of criticism for his lack of consistency, although we all know young players need time to unlock their potential. Now, however, the situation is completely different and Leao is thriving.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, there were rumours regarding the 21-year-old’s future last summer, linking him with Juventus among others. In reality, the Bianconeri were never interested in signing him from Milan and didn’t initiate contacts.

One team that was interested, though, was Everton. The English side were ready to put €30m on the table but Milan immediately rejected their approaches. As a result, the offer didn’t even arrive officially, with the Rossoneri making their stance clear.
